OGI Camera Identifies Leak on APD Site

During an LDAR survey on an Acid Phase Digestion (APD) site using our OGI camera, our team detected a significant leak traced to a damaged flexible hose. The leak, invisible to the naked eye, was detected through the camera. Due to its location, the hose was inaccessible. The leak was estimated at many tonnes/ year.

The site promptly fixed the hose, and when we returned the following week, the issue had been resolved.

The issue highlights the importance of regular LDAR inspections for maintaining site efficiency and safety and showcases the benefit of OGI cameras in detecting leaks even in hard-to-reach areas.
